Denise Rothermel is a business valuation expert based in San Antonio, TX.

Denise joined CAPTRUST in 2023 from Southern Wealth Management. Her primary responsibility is managing the business valuation practice, which appraises closely held companies and family entities. This valuation practice specializes in the preparation of appraisals for gift and estate tax purposes along with related party transactions.

Prior to joining the firm, Denise began her career at Ernst & Young, specializing in preparation and review of gift and estate tax returns on a national basis. She also managed a business valuation practice within the wealth management practice for Ernst & Young.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance and financial planning from Baylor University and a Master of Professional Accounting degree with a tax concentration from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Her professional designations include Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA), and she is accredited in business valuation through the AICPA. Outside of the office, Denise enjoys being outdoors in her current home state of Utah and spending time with family.
