Greg McCarthy is an institutional retirement plan advisor based in Warren, NJ.

CAPTRUST welcomed Greg in 2021, and he currently serves as a principal and financial advisor. Greg brings over two decades of experience with all aspects of fiduciary oversight including governance, investment monitoring, plan administration, and fee benchmarking.

Greg joined CAPTRUST from Portfolio Evaluations, Inc. (PEI), where he served as lead fiduciary advisor. In addition to his experience at PEI, Greg was an adjunct professor and taught various mathematics courses at the County College of Morris. He has testified before the DOL’s ERISA Advisory Council as well as conducted webinars regarding the challenges of monitoring and selecting Target Date Funds (TDFs).

Greg received a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics and economics from the College of the Holy Cross and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Graduate School of Management at Rutgers University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Society of Colorado (CFACO) and the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society.

Outside of work, Greg enjoys playing the guitar and piano, hiking, racquetball, reading, seeing live arts (symphony, plays, musicals, concerts), biking, tennis, watching movies and documentaries, and enjoying a hot cup of coffee.
