Andrew Shimp is an institutional retirement plan advisor based in Des Moines, IA.

Andrew advises corporate fiduciaries on defined contribution, defined benefit, and nonqualified retirement plans. He partners with clients to build successful retirement programs by delivering independent guidance on investments, plan design, participant financial wellness, fiduciary governance, and vendor oversight.

Andrew began his career on the recordkeeping side of the retirement industry, spending five years in customer service and relationship management roles. Before joining CAPTRUST in 2010, he transitioned to retirement plan consulting with a local insurance brokerage’s advisory team in 2006.

Andrew earned his Bachelor of Science in business administration from MidAmerica Nazarene University.

Outside of work, Andrew enjoys hunting, fishing, and golf, and he and his wife look forward to traveling more as recent empty nesters.
