Will Chitwood is an institutional advisor based in Raleigh, NC.

Will joined CAPTRUST since 2015 and serves as a vice president and financial advisor responsible for providing holistic investment and fiduciary services to institutions. His primary focus is to serve investment fiduciaries of defined contribution, defined benefit, nonqualified retirement plans, and endowments & foundations. Will’s areas of expertise include fiduciary process, investment program design, investment policy, vendor management, investment manager search & selection, and employee advice & wellness programs. He serves clients in one of two capacities, as an investment consultant (3(21) Fiduciary under ERISA), or as a fully discretionary OCIO (3(38) Fiduciary under ERISA) within the firm’s institutional consulting practice.

Prior to joining CAPTRUST, he served as a planning consultant as a part of the Planning and Advice group at Fidelity Investments. There, he helped defined contribution and defined benefit plan participants with investment management, retirement planning, and portfolio guidance. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech. He currently holds his FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 licenses.

Outside of work, Will enjoys the outdoors, mountains to coast. You can usually find him with his wife, Lindsey, and their two dogs, Sully and Diesel, on the intercoastal waterways or hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
