Marc Hermer is senior director of portfolio solutions and trading based in Raleigh, NC.

Marc leads the portfolio solutions and trading team, including trade processes, data management, and portfolio management functions. He ​​leverages his in-depth knowledge of trading systems and execution strategies to best serve our clients—supporting both internal and external partners. He joined CAPTRUST in 2021.

Prior to joining the firm, Marc led the overlay investment strategy team at Merrill Lynch, overseeing $500 billion AUM and implementing over 600 model portfolios. He was the lead architect of Merrill’s managed account platform and was responsible for developing new investment strategies and writing rebalancing algorithms. He also worked for Parametric Portfolio Associates as a portfolio manager where he focused on after-tax portfolio management. He began his career as a portfolio trader for Lehman Brothers.

Marc holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Dartmouth College and is a CFA charterholder.
