Carter joined CAPTRUST in 2021 as a principal and financial advisor. He provides wealth management and retirement advisory services to high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners.
In the industry since 2011, Carter understands the importance of aligning values with money. He specializes in goal setting, long-term wealth management, and customized, innovative solutions and advice.
Before joining the firm, Carter spent eight years at Nachman Norwood & Parrott—a wealth management consultancy firm where he served as a wealth advisor. He began his career as a financial planning professional with Raymond James. Carter earned a Bachelor of Art degree in economics and political science from Furman University.
Outside of the office, Carter serves as a Deacon at Downtown Presbyterian Church and an advocate for children through the South Carolina Guardian ad Litem program. He also volunteers as a board member of the Greenville Estate Planning Council and is a member of the United Way Young Leaders Society.
During his free time, Carter enjoys fly-fishing, camping, grilling, reading, enjoying Greenville’s downtown, and spending time with his wife, Mills, and daughters Eleanor, Betsy, and Mary Carter.
